This page is designed for those that are new to the illegal logging debate, or new to this site. On it you can find a selection of basic information that, we hope, explains how the site works and set out the broad scope of efforts to stem illegal logging and the trade in illegal wood and products.
Below is a selection of documents that we hope will get you started on the right path. If you want a very general overview of the problem we suggest you read our illegal logging briefing paper, and if you want a little more detail about some of the solutions available to consumer countries, you may wish to read Demand Side Options: Policies and measures for reducing imports of illegal timber and timber products to consumer countries.
We will continue to add documents and introductory text to this page. Please do get in touch if you would like to recommend a particular document that you have found useful for inclusion on this page.
