Starting in 2008, MFP-II is a forum for cooperation between the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and the UK Department for International Development (DfID). MFP-II works to facilitate activities to ensure that Indonesian forestry stakeholders focus on the development and implementation of the Indonesian Timber Legality Assurance System (Indo-TLAS) as well as the recognition of the Indonesian TLAS-licensed timber in key markets, especially the European Union, via the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade-Voluntary Partnership Agreement (FLEGT-VPA) negotiations.
